The lyrics were written in 2021 (the Covid era) and capture not the heartbreak and aftermath, but the
recovery, and how it feels to finally put what happened behind and concentrate on the future.

We always wanted to write one.
Sam wrote a poem in 2021 which he published on Facebook. And there it languished, mostly unnoticed.
Ricky had been playing with a waltz composition for a while trying to think of how he'd use it.
In 2026 he hit on the idea of using the waltz and the poem together to make a really nice Christmas song.
